Burdekin Water Quality Improvement Plan

The Burdekin Water Quality Improvement Plan is one of eight water quatliy improvement plans developed for the drainage areas of the Great Barrier Reef.
The planoutlines recommended water quality targets and best practices for reducing the sediment and agricultural chemicals going into creeks, rivers and the ocean.
The plan is detailed in a comprehensive 136-page book which depicts the current condition of the region’s 48 sub-catchments and the associated best management practices for grazing and sugar lands.
