There are a number of main projects which fall under the surface
water and wetlands programme area.
Restoration of Priority Wetlands in the Lower Burdekin
Work with relevant landholders and
land managers in the priority Barratta and Sheepstation Creek
systems, to secure long-term maintenance and protection of priority
wetlands through planning, targeted weed management, appropriate
flow management, and collaborative stewardship agreements.
Supporting an Integrated Monitoring Response for the Burdekin
and Black Ross Water Quality Improvement Plans
Enhances regional coordination and
delivery of monitoring and reporting within the Burdekin and Black
Ross Water Quality Improvement Plan (WQIP) by:

building and supporting
collaboration and alignment of effort between key stakeholders in
the implementation of the Burdekin and Black Ross WQIP Water
Quality Monitoring strategies;

improving the transfer of
information knowledge amongst the resource managers and users, and
the wider community; and,

improving the community’s
capacity to understand and aid in water quality monitoring.
