Incentives for Improved Water Use in Horticulture

This Project seeks to improve irrigation management and water quality through incentives for horticultural growers in the Burdekin region, focusing on Townsville,Thuringowa, Lower Burdekin, Haughton and Bowen.

BDTNRM and Growcom are working together to improve water quality and water use efficiency in the Burdekin Dry Tropics horticulture industry. Growers can apply for incentive funding for projects related to farm mapping and planning, improved irrigation systems and improved water management including soil conservation works, sediment traps and water quality monitoring.
